Regulate is a self-support tool, but sometimes you need real-world help. If you’re in danger or feel unsafe, please use the options below.
Find local mental health support
You can search for trusted mental health services near you, including crisis support, using postcode or your current location.

Immediate danger
If you are in immediate danger or feel you might act on harmful thoughts:

Hub of Hope
The Hub of Hope is the only directory of its kind in the UK that brings local,
national, peer, community, charity, private and NHS mental health support services
together in one place.

Samaritans
You can talk to someone at Samaritans any time, day or night.

You don’t have to be suicidal to contact them — you can call if you’re struggling, overwhelmed, or just need to talk.
Shout – Free Text Support
If calling feels hard, you can text for support.

You’ll be connected to a trained volunteer who can listen and help you through what you’re feeling.
NHS 111
For urgent mental health support that isn’t an emergency:
- Call: 111
- They can direct you to your local mental health crisis team
Your GP
You can contact your GP to:
- Ask for mental health support or referrals
- Discuss therapy, medication, or support services
- Be referred to talking therapies or specialist teams
You don’t need to be “at breaking point” to speak to your GP — early support matters.
If you already have a mental health team
If you’re already under a mental health service:
- Use the contact details they’ve given you
- Many teams have crisis or duty lines you can call
- Let them know if things have changed or feel worse
You deserve support. Reaching out is not weakness — it’s a step toward staying safe.
